The Transport Office (Ministry for Development) is integrated in the organic structure of the Embassy of Spain in London. The Transport Office also holds the Permanent representation of Spain to the following international bodies:
- International Maritime Organization (IMO)
- International Oil Pollution Compensation Funds (IOPC Funds)
- International Mobile Satellite Organization IMSO
The Transport Office also represents Spain in the governing bodies of the London Convention (Convention on the Prevention of Marine Pollution by Dumping of Wastes and Other Matters, 1972), of the maritime information system Equasis, of the Consultative Shipping Group (CSG) and the World Maritime University (WMU).
The Transport Office takes part in the meetings of the Assemblies, Councils, Committees, Sub-Committees and Working Groups of the different bodies under its responsibility, as well as in the Diplomatic Conferences summoned by them. In addition, the Transport Office maintains a bilateral relationship with the Department for Transport (DfT) of the United Kingdom.
