Secretary of State for International Cooperation Assists the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in managing, formulating and executing the policy of international cooperative development.
In so doing, and according to provisions of Law 23/1998 of July 7 on international cooperative development, he exercises the responsibilities ascribed to the Minister by managing, formulating and executing the policy of cooperative development and its planning and coordination. He administers cooperative resources managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation; ensures Spanish participation in international developmental aid organizations and defines Spain’s position in formulating community development policy. He also evaluates the policy for cooperative development and the programs and projects financed with State funds
