The Directorate General for Foreign Communication of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation hereby issues the following communiqué:
The Government of Spain wishes to express its condolences and solidarity with the Government and people of Mali in light of the tragic events of yesterday, eve of the Mouloud festival, at the Djinguereber Mosque in Timbuktu, which resulted in numerous dead and injured.
The Government and people of Spain send their condolences to the victims and their families and wish the injured a speedy recovery.
