The Spanish Government would like to express its satisfaction at the liberation of the French citizen Pierre Camatte, held hostage since 26 November last, and for the positive conclusion of this case. It has congratulated Mr Camatte and his family through the French government.
The Spanish Government continues to intensify its political and diplomatic efforts, working at different levels and maintaining contacts with governments of the region to secure the speedy release of the Spanish aid workers held hostage in Mauritania.
The families of the hostages are being kept regularly informed on developments (including the news on the liberation of Mr Camatte)
