The Embassy

The functions of the Embassy are: 

  1. To represent Spain before the host country.
  2. To protect in the host country the interests of Spain and its citizens within the limits allowed by International Law
  3. To negotiate with the government of the host country
  4. To learn by using all legal media and means available about the affaires of the host country and inform Spain of them.
  5. To promote friendship and develop economic, cultural and scientific relations between the two states.

The Ambassador of Spain is the coordinator of all Spanish Administration institutions in the host country so as to guarantee, according to the principle of uniformity, that the actions of Spain in the foreign country are in agreement with the foreign policy as defined by the Government.
